Privacy policy

The short version: we collect your email so we can send you the library and one useful email a week. We don't sell it, and you can leave at any time.

Who we are

AI Ladder and jointheladder.co are run by AI Ladder LLC ("we", "us"). If you have any question about your data, email us at hello@jointheladder.co.

What we collect, and why

Your email address, when you sign up for the prompt library or the newsletter. We use it to give you the library and to send you our weekly email. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
Where you signed up from, such as which post or link brought you, so we know which content helps people. This is stored with your email.
How you use our emails. Our email provider tells us whether emails are opened and which links are clicked, so we can make the emails more useful.
How the website is used, only if you agree. With your permission we use Google Analytics, which uses cookies, to see which pages and prompts are used most. We look at this in total, not to identify you. You can say no, or change your mind later with the Cookies link at the bottom of any page, and the site works the same either way.
Technical data. Our hosting provider processes basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the website and protect it from attacks.

What stays on your device

The prompt library saves a few things in your browser so it works better for you: your light or dark theme, your cookie choice, whether you've closed the "install" message, and a copy of the library so it works with no signal. This stays on your device. We can't see it, and clearing your browser's data removes it.

Who we share it with

We use a few trusted services to run AI Ladder, and they only use your data to provide their service to us:

beehiiv, which stores our subscriber list and sends our emails.
Cloudflare, which hosts the website and passes your sign-up securely to beehiiv. We don't keep a separate copy of your email. Cloudflare also counts visits to the site for us, without cookies and without storing anything on your device, so we know how many people visit.
Google, for website analytics, and only if you agree.

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it for advertising. These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, using the legal safeguards the law requires.

Affiliate links

Some links to AI tools are affiliate links. If you click one, the tool's website may set its own cookie so that we're credited if you sign up. They don't share your personal details with us, and their own privacy policy applies on their site.

How long we keep it

Your email: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Website analytics: up to 14 months.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. For anything else, email hello@jointheladder.co and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

Children

AI Ladder is not aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has signed up, tell us and we'll delete their details.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For important changes, we'll also tell subscribers by email.
